Learning Happens Every Day Around the World...

After my high school graduation in 2007, I flew across the world to teach in Central Asia. I lived and worked with an American family with three children.  I taught first and fourth grades and sixth grade science.

In Central Asia people live within a gated area. It is not uncommon for more than one family to live inside. The family I worked with and the Asian family we lived with were amazing. I have learned lessons that cannot be learned anywhere else. Their hospitality, willingness to teach, and just to be available will always be a lesson I keep and hopefully grow within my own life.

I also spent my time abroad by investing in TCK, Third World Cultural Kids (Kids from developed countries that live in a third world country because of their parent's work).  I was amazed by how many other countries were working in different ways in this small country. I led a weekly Bible Club for girls called Stars. I loved having girls from England, Australia, Holland, and the United States.
