Learning Happens Every Day Around the World...

After my high school graduation in 2007, I flew across the world to teach in Central Asia. I lived and worked with an American family with three children.  I taught first and fourth grades and sixth grade science.

In Central Asia people live within a gated area. It is not uncommon for more than one family to live inside. The family I worked with and the Asian family we lived with were amazing. I have learned lessons that cannot be learned anywhere else. Their hospitality, willingness to teach, and just to be available will always be a lesson I keep and hopefully grow within my own life.

I also spent my time abroad by investing in TCK, Third World Cultural Kids (Kids from developed countries that live in a third world country because of their parent's work).  I was amazed by how many other countries were working in different ways in this small country. I led a weekly Bible Club for girls called Stars. I loved having girls from England, Australia, Holland, and the United States.

I Love Spending Time With Children

Spending time with children is one of the best things, I believe, a person is able to do with their time. A child loves without reason and, for the most part, they do not judge based on appearances or from what they may have heard from others. They come open hearted, ready and eager to build friendships.
