Spring Studies

We may be (very) late in posting this, but the good news is that ...
We spent Earth Day talking about and studying the third rock from the sun upon which we live,
watched a few video clips and created art out of recycled items!

There's more than one way to learn about weather.
This one was a most enjoyable one...even though its more fun to stand double in the rain.

A Classic. The lounging eight grader or Old Man In The Sea?  Difficult decision.....

Perhaps we should allow Mr. Bones to voice his opinion?

Learning about Native Americans seems elementary, and that's quite possibly true. However, their culture and art forms are far from elementary! Learning to appreciate and understand different ethnic groups is a top priority at Global Treehouse.

Creating Mar's sand..well, trying to anyway.....

By adding steel wool to sand and water, we created iron oxide (rust).
Turns out Mars is rich in iron oxide - which explains the red/orange coloring of the planet!

A child can only grow unencumbered. If his shoes are too tight or space too confining, if his paints offer only one color, or the words in his book one thought, if the seasons never changed or if he couldn't imagine tomorrow, he would surely implode!
